This life … what’s the point? There’s always something crazy right around the corner. Planning too far ahead is just asking for disappointment.

I just wanna to do the best I can, at everything, while I can.

Original Sin seems to be Retcons: The Event. I guess, I’m not really following it. This one was a bit rushed.
I don’t think Deadpool’s crappy childhood is a retcon or even part of Original Sin, but I’m also fairly weak on Deadpool’s history past the basics. (Something something Weapon X, something something Cable, etc)

The more often Spider-Gwen has been popping up on my dash the more people come to my inbox to ask where she’s from and what is Spider-Verse. I’ve been putting this off but I finally gave in and made side blogs for amazingspidergwen and peniparkers so let me explain where these two badasses come from.
Spider-Verse is an upcoming event for the ongoing Marvel Comics title Amazing Spider-Man written by Dan Slott. The event will begin with Amazing Spider-Man #9, available in November. This event will bring together every Spidey there’s ever been to battle the big bad Morlun.
Edge of Spider-Verse is a five issue miniseries that will introduce readers to brand new Spider-peeps before the Spider-Verse event. These will be released in September and October. Each issue will feature a different creative team. Which really sells the whole different universes theme if you ask me!
Spider-Man Noir takes place during the depressing 1930s. This Peter had a short run in 2008 and is being brought back with a new story.— Written by DAVID HINE & FABRICE SAPOLSKY— Art & Cover by RICHARD ISANOVE
Gwen Stacy leads a secret double life. Police Captain Stacy is currently hunting Spider-Woman while coincidentally his daughter is texting to let him know she’ll be late for dinner tonight. Hmm.— Written by JASON LATOUR— Art & Cover by ROBBI RODRIGUEZ
Dr. Aaron Aikman is a self created Spider hero. He builds his own suit and sets out to be a hero for the city of his own accord.— Written by DUSTIN WEAVER— Art & Cover by DUSTIN  WEAVER
Patton Parnell lives in a not-so-friendly neighborhood. This issue will be a horror twist on the origin. Patton will be an anti-hero.— Written by CLAY MCLEOD CHAPMAN— Art & Cover by GARRY BROWN
Peni Parker, a 14 year old of Japanese heritage, takes over piloting the high tech SP//dr mech suit after her father is killed. She has to make a psychic link with a radioactive spider to pilot the suit.— Written by GERARD WAY— Art & Cover by JAKE WYATT

They literally defeat the bad guy using friendship. That’s such a gloriously uncynical idea, and to make it the cornerstone of a massive franchise-starter populated by sarcastic degenerates is unexpected and affecting. So many comic-book movies focus on a lone hero who’s forced by grim fate to go it alone. Guardians of the Galaxy realizes that you only get by with a little help from your friends.

The great Jack Kirby, King of Comics, would have been 97 years old today. He is remembered in images here.

This is your first Comic Con after the show has been out right? How has it been so far? What is the big difference?
